Tasting Notes: Melon, Cherry, Milk Chocolate

Description: This blend was something of a happy accident - a batch of Dayana’s coffee was accidentally blended with a batch of our decaf. Instead of just wasting the coffee, we figured we might as well taste it. And wouldn’t you know it, these two coffees pair delightfully, and we stumbled upon our first half-caf. The Ethiopia SWD is a fruitier decaf, packing a nice cherry sweetness in the finish, and Dayana’s washed Caturra is bright and zesty, offering up some melon and citrus aromas. Together, these two coffees create a cup that is balanced and sweet, reminding us of milk chocolate and fresh fruit. Like a nice hammock nap, this coffee is the little boost you might need to get you through the afternoon.

(We since ran out of both the Ethiopia Decaf and Dayana’s coffee, but we’ve matched the profile with our new Peru Decaf and a lovely washed lot from Colca, Peru!)
